SourdoUgh Pancakes at the Jug

If you’ve ever visited my hometown or what I consider my hometown of Amador county in California, there’s a little town called Volcano.

Volcano has hosted and boasted many of the finest chefs and restaurants. I’ve happened to work under two of the finest dining establishments in our area.

​Well, before I even knew what food was my grandparents had taken me to a restaurant called the jug and Rose in Volcano. What was the smallest breakfast shop in town had the most amazing pancakes.
Sourdough pancakes, pancakes made from a starter from what was told to me 100 years ago.

A now friend and previous employee at my restaurant in Sutter Creek, owned the Jug and Rose and I believe it was her families recipe.

After visiting with friends and sharing a few bags of our Swedish Oatmeal Pancake Mix - I got the call! “
These are just like the pancakes at the JUG!”
